Reflecting on 20 Years of Our Legacy
As Our Legacy marks its second decade with the release of the B-Sides collection for spring 2026, designer Cristopher Nying and his team have taken a unique approach to celebrating this milestone. Rather than looking back, they have chosen to focus on introspection, creating a collection that feels both youthful and refined.
The B-Sides collection embraces a blend of analog and digital influences, drawing inspiration from elements of both cassette tapes and audio files. The pieces exude a sense of nostalgia while also staying true to the brand’s signature “just kids” attitude.
Instead of throwing a grand anniversary celebration, Nying has poured his energy into what he loves most: developing textiles and crafting garments. The collection is characterized by a tactile quality, with materials that are washed, waxed, dipped, and speckled, creating a range of textures and finishes. Shades of black dominate the palette, with names like void, soot, and deep abyss adding depth to the collection. Khakis, bordeaux, and purple hues add pops of color to the mix.
Nying describes this season as an “internal process,” filled with in-jokes and personal references. The collection pays homage to the brand’s roots in tailoring, incorporating sharp, technical pieces alongside softer, deconstructed styles. Military and biker influences are evident throughout, with nods to Nying’s first vintage purchase—a pair of Swedish military overalls that inspired a new jacket design.
Both the men’s and women’s looks in the B-Sides collection are in perfect harmony, blurring traditional gender boundaries. Masculine silhouettes are given feminine touches, while lace details and camouflage prints add a punk edge to military-inspired pieces. The collection also features updated versions of classic Our Legacy styles, such as the tuxedo bomber and the iconic “angel of death” print.
New materials and unexpected details make their debut in the B-Sides collection, signaling a shift in the brand’s evolution. An iridescent knit adds a touch of modernity to the lineup, showcasing Our Legacy’s commitment to innovation and creativity.
