Interestingly, despite her fascination, the 10-year-old from Waitati has no desire to become an astronaut.

‘‘I think I’d like to be a marine biologist.’’
Recently, she discovered a way to blend her interests — in a way.
Along with around 25 other youngsters, she participated in the Out of this World! Intergalactic Bath Bomb workshop at Wall Street Mall, part of the New Zealand International Science Festival, where they created bath bombs shaped like planets and stars.
This activity also tapped into another of her interests.
‘‘I’m also here because I like doing arts and stuff.’’
The interactive bath bomb workshop was a vibrant experience, filled with creativity, fizz, and delightful aromas.
Participants also learned about the science behind the bubbling, foaming, and fragrant qualities of bath bombs.
‘‘It was great fun,’’ Frances shared.
