The final season of Outer Banks faced the challenge of concluding the series, delivering numerous surprises, unexpected deaths, and turns in its storyline.

Caroline Arapoglou shared her thoughts exclusively with Us, calling the finale “a love letter to everyone who has been with us for these past five seasons.” She expressed that the goal was for the Pogues to have a happy ending, which she felt was achieved.

Arapoglou, 35, praised the Netflix series, whose last season is currently streaming, for successfully reviving the essence of its first season despite the bittersweet nature of the final days on set.

“From a practical standpoint, filming was a delight. Rarely do all of us gather on the same day,” she mentioned. “Having both the Pogues and the Kooks together was unique, turning the day into a bit of a celebration.”

With shows like The Bear, Outlander, and Outer Banks concluding in 2026, TV enthusiasts are preparing to bid farewell to their beloved series. Since its 2020 debut, Outer Banks has explored the rivalry between two teenage groups in a coastal North Carolina town, highlighting the social divide between affluent residents, known as the Kooks, and their counterparts.

In the series finale, viewers witnessed Sarah (played by Madelyn Cline) and John B. (played by Chase Stokes) getting married. This joyous event, which took place after the couple welcomed their first child, was attended by everyone. Meanwhile, a final treasure hunt allowed the Pogues to finally claim their gold, while most of their adversaries met their demise.

Throughout the final season, Arapoglou’s character played a crucial role.

“Throughout the show, I always felt that Rose truly loved Ward [Charles Esten] and genuinely cared about the kids,” Arapoglou stated. “While her methods may seem morally ambiguous, her core has always been about caring for her family. She is fiercely loyal to the Camerons, and it was refreshing to see her softer side this season.”

Having portrayed Rose since the first season, Arapoglou pushed her limits as her character sought to shape her future. In a gripping scene, Rose narrowly escaped death when Groff (played by J. Anthony Crane) almost fatally choked her.

“I was pregnant during this season, and at that time, I hadn’t informed anyone. It was still early, and I knew the scene would involve intense stunts, so I had to reveal my condition,” she recounted to Us. “My incredible stunt double handled most of the demanding scenes for me.”

Reflecting on Rose’s conclusion, Arapoglou expressed her enthusiasm about future possibilities.

“I’m really grateful she was somewhat embraced back into the family,” she said. “It was fulfilling to know that Rose wanted to be part of the family, and she achieved that to some extent.”

She added, “Rose needs a break now. Perhaps in a few years, she can explore the dating scene again. She did a lot of scheming for the gold, but she ended up being part of the Cameron family. I hope she holds onto that and stays around.”

Arapoglou was optimistic about the future of the characters who survived the series finale. Regarding a possible continuation?

“Our writers are exceptionally talented,” she hinted to Us. “They have numerous ideas. If they propose a spinoff, I would definitely be interested.”

Outer Banks is available for streaming on Netflix now.
