“Outlander: Blood of My Blood” Set to Premiere on Starz in August
Fans of the hit series “Outlander” will soon have a new prequel to look forward to, as “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” is set to premiere on Starz on August 8. The series will continue with weekly drops on Fridays, giving viewers a new glimpse into the world of the beloved original show.
The prequel will feature a new cast and characters, while also delving into origin stories of characters from the original series and offering new perspectives on familiar events. Set in the war-torn battlefields of WWI and the sweeping Highlands of 18th century Scotland, “Blood of My Blood” promises two new love stories filled with loyalty, passion, and desire as young couples defy the forces that seek to tear them apart.
The main couples in the prequel include Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), as well as Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), the parents of Claire Randall (CaitrÃona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) from the original series.
The cast of “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” also features Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan.
Developed by Matthew B. Roberts, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, the series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television and executive producers Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, and Jim Kohlberg.
