Prime Video has announced the highly anticipated debut of the second season of the popular Indian crime series “Paatal Lok” in January. The neo-noir drama, which delves into India’s social hierarchies through the lens of criminal justice, will see the return of lead actors Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, and Gul Panag, along with new cast members Tillotama Shome, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Jahnu Barua.
Produced by Clean Slate Filmz and Eunoia Films LLP, the eight-episode season will once again be led by creator and executive producer Sudip Sharma, with Avinash Arun Dhaware directing. The new season will follow Ahlawat’s character, Hathi Ram Chaudhary, and his team as they face new challenges and navigate through the complexities of the criminal underworld.
Sharma, who also serves as the showrunner, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response to the first season and promised to deliver stories that are raw, relatable, and intensely gripping. He highlighted the unique storytelling opportunities that the streaming service offers, allowing the team to push boundaries in visual representation and storytelling.

He spoke about the critical acclaim and massive fanbase that the show garnered, leading to the decision to delve even deeper into its immersive world with the second installment.
The series is set to stream in India and over 240 territories worldwide, with the second season scheduled to premiere on Jan. 17, 2025.
