Pam Bondi, the former Attorney General, is currently recuperating after receiving treatment for thyroid cancer, shortly after her departure from the Justice Department.
In a conversation with CNN, Bondi shared that she underwent surgery a few weeks prior and continues to receive treatment, but is “doing well.”
President Donald Trump removed Bondi from her position in April, citing her failure to pursue lawsuits against individuals he viewed as political adversaries. Additionally, Bondi faced bipartisan scrutiny over her management of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
Bondi is expected to appear before the House Oversight Committee regarding Jeffrey Epstein on Friday. She will also be joining the administrationâs Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. This council, announced in March, is tasked with advising Trump on enhancing American leadership in science and technology.
Vice President JD Vance expressed his support, stating, “Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president’s team, and I’m thrilled for her and for all of us that she’s going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces.â
Bondi did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
