Cops are on the lookout for more potential victims of a firefighter accused of being a pedophile. Pasadena Fire Captain Christopher James Ramstead, 47, from Thousand Oaks, is facing nine counts of lewd acts with a minor under the age of 14, a felony that could lead to up to eight years in prison.
Ramstead was initially arrested on February 4 for alleged crimes against children in Los Angeles County. Despite being released the next day after posting $550,000 bail, he was rearrested by the LAPD’s Juvenile Division on February 6 for the same charges.
Currently, Ramstead is being held without bail at LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center. Authorities suspect that there may be additional victims of the accused firefighter, prompting them to reach out to the public for more information.
The Pasadena Fire Department has placed Ramstead on administrative leave pending the investigation. Public records show that he has been with the fire department for over a decade and earned nearly $288,000 in 2024, including over $114,000 in overtime.
The LAPD is urging anyone with information about Ramstead to contact the Juvenile Division at (818) 374-5415. The department is also asking for help in identifying any additional victims of the alleged perpetrator.
Court records indicate that Ramstead is scheduled to appear in court on February 26. The investigation is ongoing, and the LAPD is unable to disclose further details at this time.
In light of these disturbing allegations, it is crucial for the community to come forward with any relevant information to ensure justice is served. The safety and well-being of children must always be a top priority, and it is essential to hold perpetrators of such heinous crimes accountable for their actions.
