Paula Badosa, the Spanish former World No. 2, recently gave her fans a peek into her off-court life through a series of Instagram posts. The 28-year-old shared pictures of herself enjoying some downtime by the sea in a bikini, gym selfies, and moments from tournaments she has participated in this year. Badosa was most recently seen at the WTA 1000 event of the 2026 Dubai Tennis Championships, where she unfortunately suffered a heartbreaking injury.

In a post on February 27, Badosa shared a photodump consisting of 20 pictures, expressing in the caption how she had been feeling ‘disconnected’ for a while. “Been disconnected… A few unposted ones from life lately,” she wrote alongside the post.

Despite her talent on the court, injuries have plagued Badosa’s tennis career in recent years, and unfortunately, this trend seems to be continuing in the 2026 season. After a string of disappointing performances in various tournaments, she withdrew from the Doha event at the last minute and later retired mid-match with a right thigh injury during her second-round match in Dubai.

Following her retirement in Dubai, a fan criticized Badosa for being disrespectful to the game by retiring from tournaments frequently. Badosa, ranked No. 85 in the world, responded to the fan by highlighting her chronic injury struggles and made it clear that she would not retire anytime soon. She also advised the fan to ‘change the channel’ if they were not interested in following her journey.

Despite withdrawing from the WTA 500 Merida Open, Badosa is aiming to make a comeback at the upcoming WTA 1000 event in Indian Wells. Her determination to overcome her injury challenges and continue pursuing her passion for tennis is evident in her responses to critics and her commitment to the sport.
