The Pearl fire, ignited by human activity west of Fort Collins in Larimer County, is currently 75% contained, as announced by fire officials on Saturday.
Evacuation orders have been lifted by Larimer County officials, giving the “All Clear” for the wildfire, allowing normal activities to resume in the area.
This wildfire, originating on private property in Larimer County, has affected 128 acres of land near Red Feather Lakes, equivalent to the size of 97 football fields.
Since Thursday, the fire’s burn area has not expanded, indicating progress in containment efforts by firefighting crews.
Although containment is a positive step, it does not signify the end of the wildfire but rather the completion of a control line around the fire to halt its spread. Wildfires can persist for days or weeks even after being contained.
The cause of the Pearl fire is still under investigation, with authorities attributing it to human activity.
With the onset of rain and snow in northern Colorado on Saturday, creating more favorable conditions for firefighting, the Incident Management Team plans to scale back the resources allocated to the fire.
