A pedestrian tragically loses their life in a crash near Sloan’s Lake

Denver police reported that a pedestrian died on Saturday night in a crash near Sloan’s Lake. The incident occurred near West 17th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, as first announced by the Denver Police Department at 10:46 p.m.

The intersection, located on the southwest edge of Sloan’s Lake Park, was the site of the tragic event. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Fortunately, the driver involved in the crash remained at the site.

Following the incident, Sheridan was shut down in both directions at 17th for an extensive period to facilitate cleanup and investigation efforts. By Sunday morning, the road had reopened fully, as confirmed by an update from the department at 8:18 a.m.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will release the identity of the pedestrian at a later time. As of Sunday morning, details regarding the cause of the crash remain undisclosed.
