On Thursday, a person was reportedly stabbed outside a residence in Hollywood Hills associated with U2 lead singer Bono, as per reports.
Authorities arrived at the expansive property located on the 7800 block of Granito Drive around 1:20 p.m. after being alerted to a potential stabbing incident, which is near a property that Bono, the Irish rock star, has recently invested in, according to TMZ.
The injured individual was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD confirmed that a suspect has been apprehended for assault with a deadly weapon.
Images from the scene revealed police vehicles stationed outside the luxurious property, which features a swimming pool in the backyard.
Bono, whose real name is Paul Hewson, possesses several other residences in Dublin and Killiney, Ireland. Rumors of his investment in a $7 million modern mansion situated just above the Sunset Strip emerged in 2024, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Hills and Sunset Strip neighborhoods are often considered one due to their close proximity and similar affluence.
The property allegedly connected to Bono is currently undergoing renovations. According to TMZ, the musician was abroad when the stabbing incident occurred.
Sources indicate that Bono is among a group of investors involved in the development, which they intend to sell, although it is not yet publicly listed.
The 65-year-old Bono has been enjoying a comfortable retirement, accumulating a substantial net worth estimated at over $700 million while exploring new ventures outside of music.
Despite his typically low profile, he occasionally makes headlines, sharing his views on topics ranging from the genre debate over Coldplay to U.S. politics.
Under the Biden administration, Bono experienced renewed visibility, having been invited to various prestigious events due to his dedicated advocacy against HIV/AIDS and poverty. He was also honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Biden shortly before he left office.
