Woman Charged with Child Abuse After Altercation on Flight from Disney World
A female passenger has been charged with child abuse for allegedly attacking a child who insulted her on a flight home from Disney World, according to airport police.
Kristy Crampton was arrested at Sanford-Orlando International Airport in Florida after an incident involving a child who had called her “fat” and “Miss Piggy” during a flight back to Maryland, as reported by WFTV.
Witnesses stated that Crampton became aggressive towards the child just before takeoff when he made derogatory remarks about her weight. She allegedly punched him, hit him with a water bottle, and slammed his head into the airplane window as he tried to defend himself.
The pilot intervened and contacted airport police, leading to Crampton’s arrest at the gate.
During questioning, Crampton claimed that the child had been disrespectful and rude to her throughout their Disney trip. She admitted to retaliating after the child insulted her on the plane.

Despite Crampton’s explanation, a witness stated that her actions towards the child were abusive rather than corrective.
The nature of the relationship between Crampton and the child remains unclear, as the family declined to provide further statements to authorities.
Crampton was charged with felony child abuse and appeared in Seminole County court, where she was granted release on a $10,000 bond. She was also ordered to have no contact with the child involved in the incident.
