Chicago police are currently on the lookout for a suspect who is believed to have violently attacked and robbed a passenger on a northbound Red Line train in the Wrigleyville area earlier this month. The incident took place around 11:41 a.m. on February 1 on a train near Addison, as per a CPD alert issued on Monday.
According to reports, the victim was riding the northbound Red Line when the assailant allegedly punched him in the face, stole his belongings, and proceeded to stomp on his head. The victim managed to exit the train at the Wilson station and seek assistance following the brutal attack.
While the initial description of the suspect indicated a male, the CPD alert did not provide any further details on the individual. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting Public Transportation Detectives at 312-745-4447 or submitting an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com, referencing case number JK-134584.
It is crucial for the community to remain vigilant and cooperative in assisting law enforcement in identifying and apprehending the suspect responsible for this heinous crime. The safety and well-being of all passengers on public transportation must be prioritized, and justice must be served for the victim of this senseless act of violence.
