“Pop Culture Jeopardy!” is set to return for a second season, transitioning from Amazon Prime Video to Netflix. Colin Jost is reportedly in negotiations to reprise his role as host for the upcoming season, which is anticipated to premiere sometime in 2026.
As per insider information, Prime Video has altered its approach to game shows and collaboratively decided with Sony Pictures Television to present “Pop Culture Jeopardy!” to different streaming platforms.
Featuring a twist on the traditional “answer-and-question” format, “Pop Culture Jeopardy!” challenges contestants in a tournament-style contest, testing their knowledge across various subjects including film, music, and television.
“Pop Culture Jeopardy!’s thrilling gameplay has engaged viewers, enhancing the cherished franchise while providing fans a chance to showcase their pop culture savviness,” stated Suzanne Prete, the president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television. “We are excited to collaborate with the outstanding team at Netflix to deliver more episodes to our dedicated fanbase.”
For fans of pop culture eager to join the competition, applications to be a contestant are available here.
The show premiered in December 2024, concluding its first season in March after crowning the team Personality Hires (comprising Emily Hogg, Zach Gozlan, and Miranda Onnen) as the champions of the $300,000 grand prize.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, “Pop Culture Jeopardy!” is led by executive producer Michael Davies.
Launching alongside the 41st season of “Jeopardy!”—the iconic quiz show made famous by the late Alex Trebek and currently hosted by Ken Jennings—the series is now in the midst of its 42nd season.
