Pope Leo XIV
Brother Faces Backlash for Offensive Language Towards Nancy Pelosi
Shared Post Referring to Pelosi as a Derogatory Term Sparks Controversy

Pope Leo XIV‘s brother is under fire for using inappropriate language towards Nancy Pelosi in a recent social media post.
Louis Prevost, the pope’s older brother, often shares political content from a conservative perspective on his Facebook page.
One of his posts, where Prevost called Pelosi a derogatory term, has sparked outrage online.
The controversial post shared a video of Pelosi discussing US-China trade in the 1990s, accompanied by offensive language in the caption.
While Prevost did not write the offensive caption himself, resharing it on his page implied his agreement with its sentiments.
Concerns arise as Pelosi has previously received communion at the Vatican, potentially leading to an awkward encounter with Pope Leo XIV.
Efforts to reach Louis Prevost for comment have been unsuccessful. Known for his support of Donald Trump, Prevost expects his brother, Pope Leo XIV, to lean towards conservatism, despite the pontiff’s past liberal expressions on social media.
Pope Leo XIV made history as the first American pope. As his brother faces criticism for his language, time will tell if the pontiff will address the issue and advocate for more respectful discourse.
