Disney Jr. is expanding its lineup with new series and specials, including a show set in the world of the popular “Cars” franchise and the first-ever “Avengers” series targeted towards preschoolers. The announcement was made at a fan event at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Calif.

One of the new series, “Cars: Lightning Racers,” will feature Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy reprising their roles as Lightning McQueen and Mater. The show is set to debut in 2027 on Disney Jr. before also airing on Disney+. The series follows Lightning McQueen as he embarks on new adventures in Radiator Springs alongside his friends Mater, Pipes, and Miles.

In addition to the “Cars” series, Disney Jr. is also launching “Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends,” which introduces kid versions of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Thor. The young Avengers will face off against classic Super Baddies in this new preschool series.

The network has also renewed “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+” for two new seasons, following its successful launch on Disney+. The show has been a hit with kids aged 2 to 5, making it the top-rated streaming show in its premiere week.

Ayo Davis, the president of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement about the new offerings, stating that Disney shows are often a child’s first connection to the world of Disney. She believes that the new series will capture the hearts of the next generation.

In addition to the new series, Disney Jr. also announced two new 22-minute specials, “Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up!” and two stop-motion shorts specials, “Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween” and “Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Christmas.”

The network also revealed that “Superkitties” will be returning for its third season in September, showcasing the adventures of four superhero kittens – Ginny, Sparks, Buddy, and Bitsy – as they work to make their town a more caring and “pawesome” place.

Overall, Disney Jr. is gearing up to offer a wide range of new and exciting content for preschoolers, expanding the worlds kids already love and introducing new multiplatform stories that will entertain and engage the next generation of viewers. Season 3 of the popular children’s animated series introduces a new storyline titled “Su-Purr Wild,” where the SuperKitties embark on an exciting adventure in the Kittydale Wild Jungle. Joining them on this wild journey is their wildcat friend, Willa, along with new jungle critters that they befriend along the way.

The new season promises to be filled with thrilling escapades, heartwarming moments, and valuable life lessons for young viewers. As the SuperKitties navigate through the dense jungle, they will encounter challenges and obstacles that test their bravery, teamwork, and friendship.

In addition to the exciting storyline, the series has announced a star-studded cast for the upcoming season. Original cast members, including Wayne Brady, Tim Gunn, Eric Stonestreet, Sara Ramirez, and Travis Willingham, will reprise their roles. Ariel Winter is also set to return as Sofia, adding to the nostalgia and charm of the beloved characters.

In other exciting news, a new series titled “Hey A.J.!” is set to premiere in 2026. Inspired by former Super Bowl champion and children’s book author Martellus Bennett, the show follows the adventures of A.J. and her family. The cast includes Amari McCoy as A.J., Bennett as Marty, Jhené Aiko as Siggi, Juliet Donenfeld as Jessie, Innocent Ekakitie as Jazz, and David Mitchell as Theo. Meghan Trainor will also make guest appearances as Jessie’s mom, adding a touch of musical flair to the series.

With a mix of new adventures, familiar faces, and valuable lessons, Season 3 of the SuperKitties promises to be an exciting and heartwarming journey for young viewers. Stay tuned for more updates and don’t miss out on the wild and wonderful world of the Kittydale Wild Jungle.
