DISMANTLING RADICAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES:

In a bold move, President Donald J. Trump has enacted a Presidential Memorandum that nullifies an executive order from the previous administration aimed at “equitable treatment for fish.”

  • This new Memorandum rescinds the Biden Administration’s directive on “Restoring Healthy and Abundant Salmon, Steelhead, and Other Native Fish Populations in the Columbia River Basin,” which prioritized climate change considerations over the nation’s need for dependable energy resources.
  • The Memorandum instructs the Secretary of Energy, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Commerce, and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works to withdraw from any agreements that arose from the previous administration’s executive actions, including a December 14, 2023 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to ongoing litigation.
  • These agencies are tasked with collaborating with the Council on Environmental Quality to reassess and modify environmental review procedures linked to the MOU, ultimately saving taxpayer dollars and stepping back from the MOU commitments.

REINFORCING AMERICAN ENERGY LEADERSHIP AND ECONOMIC STABILITY:

President Trump remains committed to enhancing the nation’s energy infrastructure and responsibly leveraging natural resources to alleviate living costs for Americans, sidelining speculative climate change apprehensions.

  • He acknowledges the significance of wildlife conservation in the Columbia River Basin while also advancing energy generation initiatives that benefit the American populace.
  • The MOU would have necessitated exorbitant federal expenditures and adherence to 36 pages of stringent regulations regarding dam operations on the Lower Snake River.
  • Breaching the dams could have jeopardized water supplies for farmers, disrupted vital shipping channels, inflicted severe damage on agriculture, raised energy costs, and curtailed recreational activities across the region.
  • Moreover, dismantling these dams would erase over 3,000 megawatts of reliable hydroelectric power, enough to supply energy to 2.5 million American homes.

President Trump is steadfast in his mission to rectify the previous administration’s misaligned priorities and safeguard American livelihoods. Unlike his predecessor, Trump’s administration recognizes that fostering economic growth and environmental quality can coexist harmoniously.

  • Championing the needs of Americans, President Trump prioritizes U.S. interests in ensuring a stable supply of affordable energy resources.

    • He has even signed an Executive Order revitalizing America’s clean coal sector to bolster grid reliability and safeguard countless American jobs.

  • Trump is dedicated to unleashing American energy supremacy by overturning executive actions that impose excessive restrictions on energy production and consumption.

    • On his first day in office, he declared a National Energy Emergency to facilitate domestic energy production and lower costs for everyday Americans.

  • The President’s pragmatic approach to environmental stewardship empowers Americans to fully exploit the nation’s vast natural resources.

    • He has also rolled back burdensome regulations that hindered Alaska’s potential to harness its abundant natural resources, setting the stage for a prosperous future for the entire nation.
