President Donald Trump has come out swinging against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, placing blame on them for a recent shooting that left a man dead. According to Trump, the lack of protection for ICE agents by local politicians like Walz and Frey is what led to the tragic incident.
The President took to Truth Social to share his thoughts on the shooting, posting a picture of the gun allegedly carried by the victim when federal agents shot him. Trump questioned the absence of local police during the incident and criticized the authorities for not allowing them to protect ICE officers.
Trump went on to accuse Walz and Frey of calling off local and state police, forcing ICE agents to take matters into their own hands for protection. He claimed that the lack of support from the local government led to the fatal shooting.
In a separate rant, Trump alleged fraud in the state of Minnesota, specifically targeting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for having millions in her bank account. Despite providing no concrete evidence, Trump insisted that there has been widespread theft and fraud in the state.
The President accused Walz and Frey of inciting insurrection with their rhetoric and called on them to allow “ICE PATRIOTS” to do their jobs. Vice President J.D. Vance echoed Trump’s sentiments, claiming that ICE officials have been rebuffed by law enforcement in Minnesota.
The victim of the shooting was identified as 37-year-old Minneapolis resident Alex Pretti, a U.S. citizen. Video of the incident circulated online, showing multiple agents throwing Pretti to the ground before he was shot. Federal agents maintained that Pretti was armed at the time of the shooting.
Following the shooting, protesters took to the streets and were dispersed by federal agents using tear gas. Mayor Frey and Governor Walz urged citizens to protest peacefully, with Walz activating the Minnesota National Guard to assist local police in handling the demonstrations.
The incident has sparked controversy and raised questions about the role of local politicians in protecting ICE agents and handling law enforcement situations. Trump’s strong words against Walz and Frey highlight the tensions surrounding immigration enforcement and public safety in Minnesota.
