In a recent appearance aboard Air Force One, former President Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Secretary of State Antony Blinken amidst the backdrop of Trumpâs historic peace negotiations in the Middle East.
As Trump headed towards the region, he celebrated a groundbreaking ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which includes the release of 20 hostages and a planned Israeli withdrawal to designated borders, crediting his “courage and diplomacy” for these developments.
However, Blinken has attempted to attribute some of the credit for this agreement to the Biden Administration, asserting that it was their groundwork that set the stage for the recent peace deal.
“It starts with a clear and comprehensive post-conflict plan for Gaza. Itâs good that President Trump built upon the framework the Biden Administration developed after extensive discussions with key partners. This plan emphasizes transitional governance for Gaza, with responsibilities resting on international and regional allies, ultimately shifting to full Palestinian authority,â Blinken stated on social media.

Critics have characterized Blinken’s comments as misguided, especially considering his past performance in high-stakes international discussions, such as an infamous meeting in Alaska with Chinese officials.
It’s quite disappointing to see an ineffective Secretary of State attempt to claim credit while the nation struggles with international respect. Blinken sat silently as Chinese representatives expressed disdain during those discussions, showcasing weakness in U.S. foreign policy.

In a subsequent press interaction, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy pressed Trump about Blinken’s assertion regarding the peace deal.
“Some prominent figures from the Biden Administration, including Blinken, seem eager to take credit for the peace deal,â Doocy remarked.
Trump responded with scathing criticism, targeting Blinken, Biden, and even former President Obama.
“This is nothing short of a joke. Their administrationâs handling of foreign affairs has been catastrophically poor. Our current situation should never have reached this pointâleadership at the top was simply lacking. The same applies to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. If we had just a competent president in charge, there would have been no Russian incursion,â Trump declared.
“Itâs amusing that they attempt to claim a little credit now,â he added.
