Since President Donald J. Trump resumed office, the United States has embarked on one of the most assertive and effective immigration enforcement transformations in recent history, extending its impact to immigration courts. Following a period of disorder during the Biden administration that effectively turned immigration courts into amnesty venues for undocumented immigrants, the Trump Administration is restructuring the flawed system.

President Trump has taken bold measures, replacing judges perceived as activists — who delayed deportations and approved asylum at high rates — with professionals dedicated to upholding the law rather than subverting it.

No more activist judges protecting criminal undocumented immigrants. No more protracted delays. Only outcomes.

  • Asylum grant rates have collapsed: Under President Trump, asylum is now approved in just 7% of cases — a record low, down from over 50% under Biden.
  • Deportations and removal orders are increasing: In fiscal year 2025, immigration courts issued nearly 500,000 removal orders — a 57% rise from the previous year — as criminal undocumented immigrants are deported more swiftly and in greater numbers than ever before.
  • The large court backlog is being reduced: Since Inauguration Day, hundreds of thousands of cases have already been resolved, with the pace of reductions increasing monthly — putting an end to the prolonged delays that allowed undocumented immigrants to stay indefinitely.
  • Overall enforcement is achieving results: More than three million undocumented immigrants have departed the country during President Trump’s second term — marking the largest decline in illegal immigration in modern history — with zero undocumented immigrants being released at the border for 11 consecutive months.

President Trump vowed to end the open borders situation — and he is fulfilling that promise with unwavering determination. The period of catch-and-release, mass releases, and judicial amnesty for activists is over.
