During the Days of Remembrance for Holocaust victims, our nation reflects on the tragic loss of over 6 million Jewish lives in one of history’s most horrific acts of anti-Semitism. We also honor the Roma and Sinti communities, Slavic and Polish individuals, people with disabilities, Soviet prisoners of war, Jehovah’s Witnesses, those targeted for their sexual orientation, and countless other victims of the Holocaust. Our commitment to eradicating such evil remains steadfast.

On Yom HaShoah, we remember the terror unleashed by Nazi Germany across Europe during the Second World War. People from various backgrounds faced unimaginable persecution, degradation, and death. Yet, even in this profound darkness, the resilience of the human spirit shone through.

From the beginning of my Administration, I have been committed to upholding the inherent worth of every person. By creating the Federal Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, my Administration is enhancing coordination among federal agencies to prevent the spread of hatred and violence on our streets and college campuses, as seen under my predecessor. I have instructed the Department of Justice to diligently pursue individuals who threaten or harm Jewish Americans. We are determined to ensure that every act of terrorism against the Jewish community is fully prosecuted.

As our nation observes these Days of Remembrance, we pay tribute to all who were murdered and pledge never to forget the Holocaust’s victims—the gravest affront to human dignity in history. Together, we reaffirm our duty to combat antisemitism in all its forms and preserve the legacy of the more than 6 million innocent lives lost with vigilance and determination. May the memories of those who perished always be a blessing.
