Season 2 of the highly anticipated series “Presumed Innocent” has added a new cast member to its roster. Ji-young Yoo will be joining the star-studded ensemble, which includes Rachel Brosnahan, Matthew Rhys, Courtney B. Vance, Fiona Shaw, Jack Reynor, John Magaro, Michael Hsu Rosen, and Lesley-Ann Brandt.
Ji-young Yoo is no stranger to the screen, having recently lent her voice to the character Zoe in the popular Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters.” Her impressive resume also includes roles in films such as “Moxie,” “Smoking Tigers,” “Freaky Tales,” and “Until Dawn,” as well as the Amazon Prime Video series “Expats.” Represented by Gersh Agency, Entertainment 360, Viewpoint, and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein et al, Ji-young is poised to make a significant impact in her recurring role on “Presumed Innocent.”
The first season of “Presumed Innocent” premiered on Apple TV in 2024, with Jake Gyllenhaal leading the cast in an adaptation of Scott Turow’s novel. Season 2 will be based on Jo Murray’s upcoming novel “Dissection of a Murder,” scheduled for release in May. While Apple has yet to release an official logline for the new season, the book’s description from publisher Macmillan teases a gripping storyline involving a high-profile murder case and a defendant who specifically requests Leila Reynolds, played by Rachel Brosnahan.
The series is developed by David E. Kelley, who also serves as co-showrunner alongside Erica Lipez. The executive producers for Season 2 include Kelley, Matthew Tinker, Brosnahan, Dustin Thomas, Gyllenhaal, J.J. Abrams, Rachel Rusch Rich, and co-executive producer Scott Turow. Warner Bros. Television is the studio behind the production.
