Bitcoin saw a 1.98% increase since Monday, while ethereum experienced a 1.60% decrease. Investors were cautious due to the latest monthly job numbers and escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran. However, the jobs report was positive, and progress in Middle East peace talks should help bitcoin remain above $80,000 and ethereum near $2,300.
The current price of bitcoin was 1.7% lower than Thursday’s opening price. Comparatively, one week ago, bitcoin was up 4.9%, one month ago up 11.2%, and one year ago down 17.5%. Bitcoin’s all-time high was $126,198.07 on Oct. 6, 2025, and its all-time low was $0.04865 on July 14, 2010.
Ethereum’s price this morning was 2.5% lower than Thursday’s opening price. In the past week, ethereum was up 1.5%, up 2.2% in the last month, and up 26.5% in the last year. Ethereum’s all-time high was $4,953.73 on Aug. 24, 2025, with an all-time low of $0.4209 on Oct. 21, 2015.
In terms of the future potential use of cryptocurrency, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) William J. Pulte has instructed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prepare for cryptocurrency to be considered an asset for mortgages.
