Princess Catherine has adopted a “brutally” disciplined approach to her diet following her cancer treatment, according to insiders who spoke to RadarOnline.com. Despite this, sources confirm that she still enjoys two favorite indulgences—movie-theater popcorn and sticky toffee pudding—as part of a balanced lifestyle aimed at long-term health.
In the wake of preventative chemotherapy scheduled for 2024, Catherine has reportedly put a strong emphasis on nutrition. She continues to prepare nutritious meals for her husband, Prince William, who is 44, and their children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight.
Friends of the princess say her daily diet is rich in fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious ingredients, though she hasn’t completely abandoned comfort foods. Catherine has publicly discussed her family cooking experiences, and those familiar with the royals have shared insights into her dietary habits over time.
One source stated, “Catherine is incredibly disciplined regarding her health now. She is more mindful of her diet after everything she’s experienced, but she believes in enjoying life’s pleasures. She avoids fad diets, seeking balance instead.”
Another insider shared, “She enjoys popcorn on special occasions and has a lasting fondness for sticky toffee pudding. These are the treats she permits herself without guilt, as her regular routine is very healthy. Her focus is on maintaining strength and wellness over the long term.”
Breakfast is typically centered around nutrient-dense foods.
Catherine is known to enjoy smoothies made with kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine lettuce, coriander, and blueberries, along with oatmeal as a frequent breakfast choice.
Lunch is often a vegetarian affair, although the princess is not a vegetarian herself.
During a royal visit to India, chef Raghu Deora prepared vegetable kebabs and lentil curry, having been informed that the Prince and Princess of Wales preferred meatless dishes.
The couple has also expressed their fondness for Japanese cuisine.
During a visit to Japan House London, William sampled salmon sashimi and told chef Akira, “Very impressive. Thank you very much. My wife and I love sushi. We might have to come down here for lunch when no one else is in.”
Dinner at Adelaide Cottage often includes roast chicken, homemade curries, and pasta.
Catherine has mentioned that she reduces the spice in curries for her children, though one child has developed a taste for more heat.
She shared, “Charlotte is pretty good with heat.”
Catherine has also talked about involving her children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—in meal preparation.
During a visit to Lavender Primary School, she recounted how the children recently made cheesy pasta for dinner and helped prepare salads in the kitchen.
Healthy snacks are a staple in Catherine’s daily routine.
She has shared her liking for olives and papaya during royal engagements and is reported to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the day.
When it comes to dessert, sticky toffee pudding is her top choice.
Chef Rody Warot, who has served Catherine at the Old Boot Inn in Berkshire, remarked, “Kate is always discreet and has always complimented the dishes with great kindness… for dessert, her favorite is sticky toffee pudding. It’s moist and spongy.”
Catherine is also enthusiastic about baking, as revealed during A Berry Royal Christmas, where she mentioned staying up until midnight to hand-make birthday cakes for her children.
