Priscilla Presley opens up about the difficulty of moving on after the tragic death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
The widow of Elvis Presley appeared on the “Today” show Monday, where she discussed the harrowing choice to remove Lisa Marie from life support.
Priscilla largely evaded a direct answer, instead sharing her poignant memories with Savannah Guthrie about their last encounter prior to the hospitalization.
She recounted attending Austin Butler‘s film “Elvis” in January 2023. As they left the theater, Lisa Marie suggested grabbing a drink, but changed her mind due to a stomach issue, prompting them to part ways for the evening.
Later, Priscilla said she awaited a call from Lisa Marie the next day, only to receive the shocking news that her daughter had been hospitalized and subsequently passed away.

Her account sharply contradicts allegations in a current lawsuit, which claims that Priscilla made the decision to terminate life support mere hours after Lisa Marie’s admission to the hospital.
When questioned about the lawsuit, Priscilla urged the public not to take the claims at face value, asserting that the matter is being resolved.
Priscilla is set to release her latest book titled “Softly, As I Leave You” on Tuesday, which is expected to delve into her experiences with Lisa and the delicate subject of life support.
