Environmental Specialist Met on Match.com Hired Hitman to Kill His Wife
A shocking case has emerged where an environmental specialist met on Match.com allegedly hired a hitman to kill his wife. The couple reported receiving threatening calls from an unknown individual who disguised their voice. It is believed that the suspect, identified as Sasser, also tracked the couple’s movements on their hikes using a fitness app and provided this information to the hitman website.
According to the Daily Mail, Sasser purchased Bitcoin with cash from ATMs in Knoxville before transferring the payment in January 2023. Coinhub, the platform used for the transaction, was able to trace the owner of the account “cattree” back to Sasser through customer data.
On September 18, 2024, Sasser pleaded guilty to using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire. A judge sentenced her to 100 months in prison and ordered her to pay $5,389.31 in restitution to the victim. This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online interactions and the consequences of attempting to harm others.
