Hollywood is reeling from shocking allegations against Timothy Busfield, who stands accused of sexually abusing child actors he worked with on the set of the FOX drama “The Cleaning Lady.” RadarOnline.com has uncovered disturbing details of the case against the veteran actor that have left the entertainment industry in disbelief.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Busfield, a 68-year-old Emmy winner known for his role as Danny Concannon on “The West Wing.” The warrant alleges that Busfield’s wife, actress Melissa Gilbert, 61, played a role in the alleged abuse by attempting to “foster closeness” with one of the young victims through gift-giving.
According to documents from the Albuquerque Police Department, Busfield is facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. The alleged victims, 11-year-old twins whose identities have been protected, reportedly met Busfield while working on “The Cleaning Lady” between January 2022 and June 2025. Shockingly, one of the minors claimed that the abuse began when he was just seven years old.
The investigation into Busfield began on November 1, 2024, after a physician at the University of New Mexico Hospital raised concerns about possible abuse. The boys’ parents revealed that Busfield had developed a close relationship with their sons while directing episodes of the show. The parents became aware of the allegations when they heard rumors of inappropriate behavior and confronted their children, who mentioned Busfield’s involvement.
The warrant details how the children disclosed being “groomed” by Busfield, who allegedly encouraged them to call him “Uncle Tim.” The parents later discovered previous allegations of sexual assault against both women and minors. Officer Marvin Kirk Brown, who authored the warrant, described how pedophiles often infiltrate families in trusted roles, like Busfield, to manipulate and abuse minors under the guise of normalcy.
Busfield denied the accusations during questioning, claiming that any physical contact was meant to create a playful environment. However, Warner Bros. launched an independent investigation following complaints from the boys, including an alleged incident where Busfield was witnessed kissing a minor in a trailer.
The studio emphasized its commitment to the safety of all cast and crew members, particularly minors, and pledged to cooperate with law enforcement. Busfield maintains his innocence, suggesting that the boys’ mother fabricated the allegations out of revenge.
These disturbing revelations have cast a shadow over Busfield’s career, with previous allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1994. As the investigation unfolds, the entertainment industry grapples with the implications of these serious accusations against a once-beloved actor.
