A Radio Talk Show Host Running for City Council on Staten Island Targeted by Vandals

A radio talk show host, Frank Morano, who is running for City Council on Staten Island, was recently targeted by far-left vandals who compared Republicans to Nazis. The incident occurred when one of Morano’s campaign lawn signs was defaced with the words “NAZI SCUM” written under his name, at the corner of Richmond Road and Morley Avenue.

Speaking about the incident, Morano expressed his shock and disappointment at the hate speech directed towards him. He mentioned that any form of vandalism is unacceptable, but when it involves such derogatory language, it crosses a line.

According to Morano, the vandalism was likely motivated by his party affiliation as there have been similar incidents targeting Republicans in other parts of the state. He emphasized that being labeled a Nazi because of his political beliefs is insulting and hurtful, especially considering the GOP’s stance against Nazism and fascism.

Staten Island Republican, Michael Tannousis, condemned the vandalism, noting that the person who discovered it is Jewish and a U.S. Army veteran, making the incident even more troubling. He reaffirmed that such behavior will not be tolerated on Staten Island.

The NYPD has been contacted for a comment on the matter, but they have yet to respond.
