The PWHL recently unveiled six new team names and logos after more than a year of anticipation. The Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres are the new additions to the league, each bringing a unique identity to the table.

1. Montréal Victoire
Montréal Victoire stands out as the top choice for many, with a fresh and captivating branding that appeals to both French and English speakers. The maroon color scheme exudes grandeur, while the navy accents add a classic touch. The detailed logo, featuring a fleur-de-lis and a hidden M, adds to the overall appeal of the team.

2. Toronto Sceptres
Toronto Sceptres may have had a rocky start with the name, but the unique logo and color scheme have won over many fans. The navy-light blue-gold combo and the intricate design of the logo make it a standout among the new teams. While the name may take some getting used to, the overall package is impressive.

3. New York Sirens
The New York Sirens team embraces a teal color scheme that ties in well with other women’s sports teams in the area. The name, though divisive, references Long Island Sound and adds to the team’s identity. The logo, while not a favorite for some, is seen as cohesive and visually appealing.

4. Boston Fleet
Boston Fleet brings a nautical theme to the table with its anchor-like B logo and navy color scheme. The logo, reminiscent of the Hartford Whalers, pays homage to New England hockey history. While the name may not be as exciting as others, the overall branding is solid.

5. Minnesota Frost
Minnesota Frost takes a unique approach with its name, avoiding the cliches often associated with hockey team names. The purple color scheme is a nod to Prince, adding a touch of creativity to the team’s identity. However, the logo falls short in terms of creativity and impact.

6. Ottawa Charge
Ottawa Charge falls in the middle of the pack, with a bright red-yellow-white color scheme that is eye-catching on the ice. The electric charge theme adds a dynamic element to the team’s identity, but the logo design feels reminiscent of a software company logo from the past.

Overall, each team brings something unique to the table, adding to the excitement of the upcoming PWHL season. Fans can look forward to seeing these new teams in action and cheering on their favorites as they compete in the league.
