Resistance is futile when it comes to this upcoming auction.
For die-hard “Star Trek” fans, the ultimate collector’s items are set to go under the hammer next week. Captain James Tiberius Kirk’s phaser and communicator, used by actor William Shatner during the filming of the original series’ 79 episodes, will be up for grabs along with over 200 other props, costumes, scripts, and conceptual sketches from the iconic franchise.
Julien’s Auctions is hosting the “Bid Long and Prosper” auction in Beverly Hills on Nov. 9, with early bidding already underway online.
The phaser being auctioned is one of only four created in 1966 for the series, with intricate details and moving parts that make it exceedingly rare. It is expected to reach a price of $200,000.
Shatner’s iconic tunic and pants from the show are also up for auction, with a price tag of $50,000.
Bidding starts at $150,000 for one of the two communicators used on the show by Shatner.
Fans can also bid on spacesuits worn by Shatner, Nimoy, and Doohan, along with various other memorabilia such as filming miniatures, costume jewelry, and signed scripts.
Pieces of the U.S.S. Enterprise’s actual bridge are also up for sale, including a chair, Nichelle Nichols’ console, and the ship’s self-destruct panel.
Bidding on a tribble, used on set for “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” starts at $500.
Costumes from various “Star Trek” films and series are also available, including outfits worn by Jolene Blalock for “Star Trek: Enterprise.”
Shooting schedules, crew jackets, and exclusive production photos will also be part of the auction, along with Gene Rodenberry’s business card encased in acrylic.
