While many Galaxy users see it as a quick optimization tool, the app offers much more, especially within its storage sub-menu.
Device Care not only evaluates how much storage is being used, but also identifies what is occupying the space. It highlights files and file groups that users may have forgotten and offers specific suggestions for deletion. Unlike a simple ‘clean-up’ button, it allows users to choose what to delete, rather than removing data indiscriminately.

How to Open Device Care on Your Galaxy
Device Care can be found in the Settings menu of your Galaxy device. There’s no need to download or set up an additional app.
- Open Settings on your Samsung Galaxy.
- Scroll down and tap Device Maintenance.
- Tap Storage to access the storage analysis.
In this section, you’ll see how your storage is organized into categories such as apps, photos, videos, audio files, documents, the bin, and others. This provides a clear overview before making any deletions.
Although you could manually inspect each category, this would be time-consuming. It’s more efficient to begin with the two functions listed below the category list: Duplicate Files and Large Files.
