Iconic French actress and animal rights advocate Brigitte Bardot is currently on the road to recovery and wants to reassure her fans about her health, as per her foundation’s announcement.

Rumors circulated recently that Bardot, now 91, had been hospitalized in Toulon, southern France, last month, following a previous hospitalization in October for what was deemed as minor surgery by her team.

“In light of the inaccurate information circulating in the past few days, Ms. Brigitte Bardot would like to clarify that she is currently recuperating, and kindly requests privacy while urging everyone to stay calm,” the statement read.

“Ms. Bardot would like to ease the worries of those genuinely concerned about her well-being. She conveys her love to all.”

Renowned for her captivating performances in films like And God Created Woman in the 1950s and 60s, Bardot also dabbled in music with several successful releases during that era.

Transitioning away from acting in the 70s, she made Saint-Tropez her permanent residence and dedicated herself to animal welfare through her eponymous foundation.
