The gruesome discovery of the dismembered body of a missing teenage TikTok influencer, Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Pina, known as “China Baby,” has shocked the nation of Peru. Her mutilated remains were found in a water plant in Lima, clogging up the river filtration grid, by police officers conducting routine inspections.
Forensic teams were able to identify Pina’s body parts through her distinct tattoos, such as one on her back that read “Paula Sophia” along with a date. The discovery was made by workers at the plant on June 9, just four days after Pina shared her last TikTok video with her 5,000 followers.
Parts of her body were later found trapped in the river filtration grid within the water plant about a week later. A graphic video captured the crews pulling out the teenager’s remains, although some body parts are still missing.
Pina, originally from Venezuela, had left her home country as a minor to live with her then-boyfriend, Meiner Jimenez Castillo. Tragically, Castillo was found dead in Lima by suicide in 2022, with his family accusing Pina of having a connection to his death and harassing her on social media.
The brutal nature of Pina’s death has raised concerns of human trafficking involvement, as her injuries were similar to those of victims of such crimes. The Peruvian National Police are currently investigating the case, although no suspects have been announced in connection with her death.
The tragic end to Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Pina’s life has left her family and followers in shock, as they mourn the loss of the young TikTok influencer known as “China Baby.” The investigation into her death continues as authorities work to uncover the truth behind this horrific crime.
