Dick Van Dyke Celebrates 100th Birthday Despite Challenges
Despite facing challenges such as being blind, deaf, housebound, friendless, stooped, and crippled, beloved actor Dick Van Dyke celebrated his 100th birthday with a sense of play and optimism. Van Dyke described how he still sees the world as a “giant playground” and continues to find joy in singing, joking, and dancing around the house with his wife, Arlene, who he credits as his source of strength.
Van Dyke shared that he remains active by hitting the gym three times a week and even sings while moving between machines. He emphasized the importance of staying active and mentioned that he still enjoys dancing as a form of exercise.
When asked what keeps him looking forward, Van Dyke advised others to consider what they want their future to look like and to stay optimistic and alive by setting goals for themselves. He encouraged everyone to ask themselves what they want to accomplish each day, as well as in the coming months and years.
