Following a fiery encounter between House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Representative Mike Lawler, itās clear we have our answer to the age-old query posed by Rodney King — āCanāt we all just get along?ā The resounding reply is NO.
During a press conference, Jeffries was approached by Lawler, who confronted him about not supporting a federal government reopening bill.
This escalated into four minutes filled with personal jabs and insults. The substance of the comments was secondary to the delivery, with both representatives overlapping each other’s words — at one point, Jeffries pointedly gestured at Lawler.
No one yielded ground, and ultimately, nothing was achieved. In short, just another day in the political arena.
