The tragic events at Lynch Arena in Rhode Island have left a family shattered after transgender killer Robert Dorgan murdered his son and ex-wife and critically wounded her parents during a high school hockey game. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to cope with the devastating loss. Organizer Amanda Wallace-Hubbard expressed the profound impact of losing her brother Aidan and stepmother Rhonda, as well as the critical condition of Rhonda’s parents who were injured in the shooting.
Dorgan’s teenage son Colin, a talented multi-sport athlete, was competing nearby when his father carried out the horrific attack, resulting in the death of his mother and older brother. The family also includes a daughter, Ava, who mentioned that Colin is coping as best as he can amidst the tragedy.
Ava, a nursing student, shared that her father had no history of violence and worked on boats. She was unaware of his ownership of guns and admitted that their relationship had become distant in recent years. Reports indicate that Dorgan had a total of six children.
Following the incident, the family is grappling with the loss of their loved ones and the uncertain future ahead. Ava and Colin are determined to continue their education and honor the memory of their parents and brother. A fundraiser has been initiated to support them during this challenging time, with a goal of $65,000.
After committing the heinous act, Dorgan took his own life. His struggles with mental health issues and gender identity were highlighted by one of his daughters, who described them as symptoms of deeper underlying problems. Court records revealed child support cases filed by two of Dorgan’s former wives in 2016, shedding light on his troubled past.
Heidi Wallace and Marlyse Dunbar, the former wives who filed the child support cases, declined to comment on the matter when contacted by media outlets. The devastating impact of the tragedy has left the family reeling, with the community coming together to support Ava and Colin as they navigate the challenging road ahead.
