Jack White Takes Aim at Joe Rogan for Hosting Black Keys on Podcast
Jack White, the iconic musician and former frontman of The White Stripes, has recently expressed his displeasure with Joe Rogan, the popular UFC color commentator and podcast host. White’s animosity towards Rogan stems from Rogan’s decision to feature The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, who are known rivals of White, on his podcast multiple times.
In a 2014 interview, White criticized The Black Keys for allegedly imitating The White Stripes’ distinctive sound. He stated, “There are kids at school who dress like everybody else… and there are musicians like that, too… Half the time, it’s the Black Keys… There’s a whole world that’s totally fine with the watered-down version of the original.” This comment fueled the ongoing feud between White and The Black Keys.
White’s disdain for Auerbach was further revealed in a leaked 2013 email during his divorce proceedings with model Karen Elson. In the email, White referred to Auerbach by a derogatory name and expressed his frustration at the prospect of their children attending the same school in Nashville. He lamented, “He gets yet another free rein to follow me around and copy me and push himself into my world,” highlighting the competitive tension between the two musicians.
Despite White’s past criticisms and conflicts with The Black Keys and Auerbach, he later issued an apology for his remarks, perhaps signaling a desire to move past the animosity. The complex relationships and rivalries within the music industry continue to fuel intrigue and speculation among fans and observers.
