A Florida woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of her roommate, who disappeared in Orlando on Christmas Day in 2022. Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, is facing charges of second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and grand theft in connection to the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42.
Despite nearly two years passing since her disappearance, Medina-Pacheco’s body has still not been found, as confirmed by the Orlando Police Department. Victoria-Gonzalez initially contacted authorities on December 27, 2022, claiming she had not seen her roommate for two days. However, detectives discovered inconsistencies in her account of events.
A search warrant was executed at the residence shared by the two women, where significant evidence of a violent incident was uncovered. Following an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, it was determined that Victoria-Gonzalez had relocated to Hartford, Connecticut.
Orlando police traveled to her new residence in Connecticut and, after an interview, found probable cause to charge her with the death of Medina-Pacheco. She was subsequently taken into custody. Video footage of the arrest shows Victoria-Gonzalez being escorted down a hallway by officers while wearing a bright red dress.
Authorities have not provided additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding Medina-Pacheco’s disappearance. The case remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to search for answers and justice for the victim.
