Authorities made a disturbing discovery Sunday afternoon in a Brooklyn home: the decomposing body of a 58-year-old man with a knife protruding from his neck, as reported by police and sources.Â
Officers conducted a wellness check at a brownstone located at 716 Madison St. in Bed-Stuy, uncovering the grim scene at approximately 12:41 p.m., according to police statements.Â
The man was declared dead on the scene.Â
The duration of the man’s presence in the home remains uncertain, though sources indicated his body was “highly decomposed” with the knife still in his neck.
The cause of death will be established by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to police.
The man’s identity is being withheld until his family has been notified.
This unsettling discovery follows a similar incident weeks earlier, where police were led by a foul odor to find a decaying body in a Staten Island home.Â
