Indian digital storytelling platform Pratilipi has recently announced a strategic content partnership with renowned production house Roy Kapur Films. This collaboration aims to co-develop and produce a variety of films and series by utilizing Pratilipi’s vast story universe.
The partnership between Pratilipi and Roy Kapur Films will involve jointly identifying stories from Pratilipi’s platform, co-investing in their development, and collaboratively pitching and producing them for top studios and streaming platforms. The goal is to co-produce a minimum of six projects, including both films and series, over the next three years.
The first project to emerge from this partnership is “Charitraheen,” a gripping courtroom drama that has garnered a massive following on the Pratilipi app, with over 21 million reads, 244,000 reviews, and an impressive 4.88/5 rating.
Pratilipi, with over 30 million monthly active users and 1.6 million writers, offers a vast catalogue of stories in 12 Indian languages. On the other hand, Roy Kapur Films, founded by veteran producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, brings its production expertise and industry connections to the table. The company has been behind successful projects like “The Sky Is Pink,” “Yeh Ballet,” “Aranyak,” and “Rocket Boys.”
