The live-action film adaptation of Yuto Suzuki’s SAKAMOTO DAYS is set to hit theaters in Japan on April 29, 2026. Recently, the official website for the film revealed the cast visuals and identities of three key members of ORDER, the elite special operations unit under the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA).

The cast members unveiled are Takumi Kitamura as Nagumo, Yusei Yagi as Shishiba, and Meru Nukumi as Osaragi. Ren Meguro from the Japanese idol boy band Snow Man takes on the lead role of Taro Sakamoto. Along with the cast reveal, a special video featuring footage focused on ORDER was also released.

SAKAMOTO DAYS follows the story of Taro Sakamoto, a former feared assassin in Japan who leaves his past life behind after falling in love, getting married, and starting a family. However, he is forced back into action when enemies from his past resurface. Ren Meguro portrays both the plump and combat-ready sides of Sakamoto’s character in the film.

ORDER is the top-tier special operations unit under the JAA, responsible for eliminating high-risk targets to maintain balance in the assassin world. The newly introduced characters of ORDER include Nagumo, played by Takumi Kitamura, Shishiba, portrayed by Yusei Yagi, and Osaragi, played by Meru Nukumi.

Nagumo is Sakamoto’s former peer known for his laid-back attitude and mastery of disguise. Shishiba, played by Yusei Yagi, is a calm character who uses a nail hammer as his weapon and often works alongside Osaragi. Meru Nukumi’s character, Osaragi, is a rookie member who fights with a massive electric chainsaw, creating a unique contrast between her appearance and combat style.

The film also features Fumiya Takahashi, Aya Ueto, Miyu Yoshimoto, and other cast members in key roles. The antagonist X, also known as Slur, remains mysterious with the actor playing the character yet to be announced.

Directed and written by Yuichi Fukuda, the film promises intense action sequences with Keiya Tabuchi overseeing the action direction. With editing completed, Fukuda believes the film is ready for the big screen even without added CGI and music.

SAKAMOTO DAYS has expanded beyond manga into novels, spinoff manga, and an anime adaptation. The live-action film is set to continue the momentum leading up to its release on April 29, 2026, in Japan.
