Apple Chooses Samsung for iPhone Foldable

Apple has made a surprising decision to partner with Samsung Display as the exclusive supplier for the bendy screen in its upcoming iPhone foldable, set to launch in the second half of 2026. This move marks a departure from Apple’s usual practice of diversifying its component suppliers, indicating the importance of Samsung’s technological edge in foldable display technology.

The Advantage of Samsung’s Technology

Samsung Display has reportedly overcome a major hurdle in foldable phone technology by minimizing the crease that typically appears in the center of foldable devices. This crease has been a significant roadblock for Apple, preventing the company from entering the foldable phone market until now. With Samsung’s expertise and experience in foldable displays, Apple is now poised to introduce its own foldable iPhone.

The Price of the iPhone Foldable

Despite the technological advancements in the foldable display, the upcoming iPhone foldable is rumored to come with a hefty price tag of $2,000. This places it above the current pricing of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and signals Apple’s entry into the premium foldable phone market. As competition in the foldable phone segment heats up, it will be interesting to see how Apple’s offering compares to its competitors.
