The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE smartphone is rumored to receive a significant display upgrade that could set it apart from its predecessor. Initially, reports indicated that the device would feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with improved peak brightness of 2600 nits. However, a recent report from South Korea’s Zdnet suggests that the screen upgrade could be even more impressive than previously thought.

According to the report, the Galaxy S25 FE’s display will utilize a flexible OLED panel instead of the rigid component found in the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. This shift to a flexible OLED panel will allow Samsung to make the Galaxy S25 FE more compact and potentially address some design issues present in its predecessor. Typically reserved for flagship smartphones due to the added cost, the use of flexible OLED panels in the Galaxy S25 FE could signify a move towards premium display technology in Samsung’s mid-range devices.

Furthermore, the report hints at the possibility of Samsung incorporating flexible OLED panels in its Galaxy A range, starting with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A57. This move could potentially revolutionize the design and performance of Samsung’s below-flagship phones, addressing concerns such as thickness and bezel size. The Galaxy S24 FE, with its 8mm thickness, and the Galaxy A56, known for its non-uniform bezels and chunky chin, could benefit from the implementation of flexible OLED technology in future iterations.

Overall, the transition to flexible OLED panels in Samsung’s mid-range and below-flagship devices could lead to more compact, visually appealing smartphones with improved display quality. As Samsung continues to innovate and push boundaries in the smartphone market, consumers can expect exciting advancements in display technology across the brand’s product lineup.
