The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 may finally bring the camera upgrade that fans have been eagerly anticipating. For years, the Samsung Galaxy S range has been equipped with the same Samsung ISOCELL GN3 main camera sensor, resulting in minimal advancements in camera technology from model to model. However, the latest rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 will feature a new 50MP camera sensor, marking a significant improvement in the camera department.

According to reports from a Dutch website called GalaxyClub, the Samsung Galaxy S26 is expected to sport a newer variant of the ISOCELL GN series camera sensor. While the specific name of the sensor has not been disclosed, it is speculated to be a brand new component that has yet to be officially announced. This development is a welcome change from the stagnant camera technology seen in previous iterations of the Samsung Galaxy S series.

The camera system of the Samsung Galaxy S25 was criticized for being too similar to its predecessors, despite minor improvements in image quality. The addition of a new and improved camera sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S26 is likely to result in a more significant enhancement in image quality, offering users a more compelling photography experience.

In addition to the camera upgrade, rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 may also feature a variable aperture for the main camera, enhancing the device’s ability to capture both bright daylight shots and low-light environments. Furthermore, the upcoming flagship smartphone is expected to make a return to Samsung’s custom Exynos chipset, following a year of utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
