Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE Review: Is a Stylus Enough?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a mid-priced tablet that offers some great features but falls short in terms of significant advancements. Priced at $499.99, it comes with an excellent IP-certified design, a brilliant S Pen stylus implementation, and six years of software updates. However, there are some cons to consider, such as fairly minor improvements since 2023, a price hike, and rivals offering better performance and specs.

Design & Build:
The tablet features a familiar flat metallic design with IP68 certification and a bundled S Pen stylus. While the design hasn’t changed much from its predecessor, the tablet still feels premium and well-built. The S Pen stylus implementation is top-notch, offering a seamless writing experience and powerful note-taking capabilities.

Screen & Speakers:
The 10.9-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate provides a decent viewing experience. However, it falls behind some of its rivals in terms of display technology and features. The stereo speakers offer solid sound quality but are not as immersive as those found in other mid-priced tablets.

Specs & Performance:
The tablet is powered by an Exynos 1580 chip with 8 or 12GB of RAM. While the performance is adequate for everyday tasks, it lags behind competitors with more powerful processors. The option for 5G connectivity is a plus, giving users more flexibility in terms of network speed.

Cameras:
The tablet features a 13Mp rear camera and a 12Mp ultra-wide selfie camera. While the cameras are functional, they are not on par with smartphone cameras and should only be used for basic photography needs.

Battery Life & Charging:
With an 8000mAh battery and support for 45W charging, the tablet offers good battery life and fast charging capabilities. The battery life has improved compared to its predecessor, lasting through several days on a single charge.

Software & Apps:
The tablet runs on Android 15 with One UI 7.0, providing a user-friendly interface with plenty of customization options. Samsung promises six years of OS and security updates, ensuring long-term usability.

Price & Availability:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is available for purchase starting at $499.99. While the price has increased compared to its predecessor, the tablet still offers good value for the features it provides.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a solid mid-priced tablet with some standout features like the S Pen stylus and IP68 certification. However, it falls short in terms of performance and display technology compared to its competitors. If you specifically value the bundled S Pen stylus, this tablet is a good choice, but it’s worth exploring other options before making a final decision.
