Exciting new leaks have emerged regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch, suggesting that Samsung is expanding its wearable lineup.
While an official announcement for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is still a few months away, it is expected to be unveiled alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The latest leaks provide some concrete details about Samsung’s next wearable, hinting at what consumers can expect from the new range.
Two Galaxy Watch 8 models spotted
According to reports from Xpertpick, batteries believed to be intended for the Galaxy Watch 8 series have surfaced in certifications at SafetyKorea, a safety and compliance organization based in South Korea.
These batteries, codenamed EB-BL330ABY and EB-BL505ABY, are said to be for two different wearable devices – the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
Notably, Samsung did not release a Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, making this news particularly exciting for fans of the brand.
A screenshot reveals that the EB-BL330ABY battery has a typical capacity of 435 mAh, slightly larger than the 425 mAh battery found in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.
Additionally, the Watch 8 Classic has been listed on the Bluetooth SIG site with the model number ‘SM-L505U.’
While there is speculation that this model could be the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, the name clearly states Watch 8 Classic, indicating that Samsung is likely working on multiple wearables simultaneously.

Galaxy Watch 8 firmware out in the wild
Adding to the excitement, Twitter tipster Theordysm recently shared details of the firmware designed for Samsung’s upcoming wearables refresh.
The firmware mentions six variants, which seem to correspond to two different models.
The SM-L320, SM-L325U, SM-L330, and SM-L335U are likely the various sizes and Wi-Fi/cellular options for the Galaxy Watch 8, while the SM-L500 and SM-L505 could pertain to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic based on previous mentions in the GSMA database.
Fans of the Galaxy Watch 7 are hopeful for the return of the Classic model and a slimmer case for the Galaxy Watch 8. Additionally, there is a desire for advanced health features to function seamlessly without the need for a Samsung phone connection.
