The Future of Samsung Galaxy: Will there be a Galaxy S26 Edge?
With the official announcement of the Galaxy S26 range, Samsung has once again captivated the tech world with its latest offerings. The line-up includes the traditional three models, but the question on everyone’s mind is whether we will see a Galaxy S26 Edge this year.
During a recent briefing at Samsung’s London store, I had the opportunity to speak with Kadesh Beckford, Senior Product Manager at Samsung UK. When asked about the possibility of a new Edge model in 2026, Beckford hinted that the “beyond slim” phone from the previous year may have been a one-time experiment.
“We’ve definitely learnt from it [the S25 Edge] and been able to implement action to our other devices. I’m always looking at the insights on what our consumers are looking for in a smartphone and then being able to create and bring forth to the market devices which are meaningful to them,” Beckford explained.
It’s worth noting that the Galaxy S25 Edge reportedly had poor sales, leading to speculation about the fate of the Galaxy S26 Edge. While some believe it may replace the S26+ in the line-up, others suggest that Samsung might opt to discontinue the Edge series altogether.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the Galaxy S26 Edge, other smartphone manufacturers like Apple and Motorola have been venturing into the realm of super-slim handsets, hinting at a potential trend in the industry.
For now, consumers have the choice of selecting from the existing Galaxy S26 models or holding out to see if an Edge variant emerges. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, in particular, stands out with its slim design, built-in S Pen, and new Privacy Display feature.
Beckford remained tight-lipped about the future of the Edge series but assured that Samsung is committed to offering the perfect devices for a diverse range of customers globally.
