Samsung smartphones and wearables are getting a fresh update with the latest One UI 8 releases. Let’s dive into the details of the new updates and what they bring to the table.
Starting with the One UI 8 Watch beta that has been rolled out in South Korea for select Samsung smartwatches, with plans to expand to the US soon. Unfortunately, this pre-launch software won’t be available to the general public just yet. The update introduces a new UI design along with Samsung’s Now Bar and Now Brief heads-up widgets. Additionally, four new health features are included: Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load, although not all features will be accessible on older Galaxy Watch models. The update is currently being rolled out to the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra range, with plans to extend to the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 5 families in the future.
Moving on to the One UI 8 beta for phones, which is now available for Samsung Galaxy S25 devices in various regions such as the UK, US, Germany, and Korea. This 1.2GB update addresses UI issues and introduces new features like AI-generated birthday alerts within the Now Brief tool. The full release of One UI 8 is expected to coincide with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 at a special Unpacked event scheduled for July 9, 2025. Rumors also suggest a release of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 range at the same event. With these upcoming launches, it is anticipated that the current batch of One UI 8 beta releases will be the final one.
