Samsung Galaxy Watch Rumored to Skip One UI 7 for One UI 8
Rumors are swirling that Samsung is planning to skip over One UI 7 entirely for its Galaxy Watch smartwatch range. According to a leak from IposDev, backed up by Sammobile, Samsung may jump straight to One UI 8 Watch for its upcoming smartwatch update.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is running on One UI 6 Watch, with WearOS 5 as its foundation. Launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 in July 2024, the software on the Galaxy Watch 7 has fallen out of sync with the company’s other smart devices.
With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in January, Samsung’s smartphones have been operating on One UI 7. To align its wearable range with its smartphones, Samsung is reportedly planning to introduce One UI 8 for its next major smartwatch OS update later this year.
While details about One UI 8 Watch are scarce at the moment, it is expected to focus on enhanced health-related features and incorporate a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. During a recent earnings call, Samsung executive Daniel Araujo hinted at these features for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, which is likely to debut with One UI 8 Watch.
In addition to the software updates, the new watch is rumored to boast an innovative design. There have also been hints that a Classic model with a rotating bezel, a feature not seen since the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in 2023, will make a return this year.
As Samsung gears up for the launch of its next smartwatch update, fans can anticipate a blend of cutting-edge technology, health-focused features, and a stylish design that sets the Samsung Galaxy Watch series apart in the wearable tech market. Stay tuned for more updates on the highly anticipated One UI 8 Watch release.
