Sarah Ferguson Demands Free Royal Home
Reports have surfaced claiming that Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, is pushing to be rehoused on Crown Estate land, specifically eyeing Adelaide Cottage, the current residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales. According to sources, Ferguson feels entitled to live in a royal residence for the rest of her days, a sentiment that stems from her perceived comparison to Princess Diana.
An insider revealed, “Sarah genuinely believes she’s entitled to live out her days in a royal residence. She’s never stopped measuring herself against Diana. In her mind, she got a raw deal in the divorce and has spent years feeling punished for not being the one the public adored.”
Despite divorcing in 1996, Ferguson and Andrew have been residing together at Royal Lodge since 2008. However, with new arrangements in place, Andrew has agreed to vacate the property due to backlash over his reported “peppercorn rent” deal. He is expected to move into Frogmore Cottage, the former home of the Sussexes. Meanwhile, Ferguson is lobbying to secure Adelaide Cottage once Prince William and Princess Kate move to the larger Forest Lodge nearby.
Those close to Ferguson say that she sees this move as an opportunity to finally assert her independence after years of being tied to her ex-husband’s fate. However, palace sources have indicated that King Charles is not pleased with Ferguson’s demand for a free royal home.
One courtier stated, “The King is under pressure to demonstrate transparency, especially with current scrutiny on spending and debates surrounding Andrew’s conduct in Parliament. Sarah’s request for another grace-and-favor home at this time is incredibly ill-timed.”
It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether Ferguson will be granted her desired royal residence. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
